A Mom’s story: Jennifer Morris
Books, Articles & Podcasts
Verses Jennifer Morris Recommends for someone walking through pains in motherhood:
with commentary on how they've helped her
Psalm 56:8 - God sees my pain and it matters to him.
2 Corinthians 12:10 - My strength is found in Christ.
Job 40-42 - All of Job is good reading regarding suffering, but 40-42 reminds me of who God is. Yes, I don't understand why He is doing what He's doing, but who am I to question Him? If He explained His plan to me, I still would not understand it.
Lamentations 3 : 21 - 24 This reminds me of where I find my hope, God's faithfulness, His steadfast love and mercies.
1 Corinthians 15:58 - Be Steadfast/My labor is not in vain.
2 Corinthians 4: 7-9 - When I feel at my lowest I know God has not let me be destroyed.
1 Peter 5: 7 & 10 - Reminds me to give all of my concerns to God and some day I and my children if God wills it will be restored.
Matthew 12: 46-50 Reminds me that while my blood family may not always accept or be with me, God has created a family I can turn to.
Romans 5: 1-11 - This reminds me of the ultimate reason for trials in my life and that I have a hope that is secure. I can trust this hope more than any other thing/relationship on Earth.
Romans: 8 All of it, but especially 18-39. - It's so full of God's promises. The two biggest points that stand out to me are: 1. No matter how my child changes their body, if they are saved their bodies will be redeemed. 2. The Holy Spirit helps me when I have no clue what to pray for.
